Hi,
I cannot answer, but am interested... Is it plastic or a fibre-glass type of mouthpiece? It sounds interesting, and you can probably adjust to play anything if you can get the sound in your brain, then the "grey matter" can make things happen. What type of cup is it?
Perhaps there is a screw in cup you can get for a normal trumpet mouthpiece... I`ll ask around and see what comes up. Cheer up, and keep playing

The plastic mouthpieces are usually polycarbonate (lexan, like Nalgeen bottles) or a softer plastic called Delrin. The ones with a brass shank are better than completely plastic, but the thing that makes standard all-brass mouthpieces work is that they actually produce a specific sound when played. Try tapping on the side of the mouthpiece and you will hear a definite ring. The plastic ones don`t do this. For someone who is allergic to the metal, I would reccomend either gold plating (if you are just allergic to the silver, or if is just the brass, the silver should be fine) or a rim made of plastic. Some of the rims are small enough that they don`t affect the sound too much.

Thanks for the info.
I have been told the same thing as Bobert has advised, try a Gold plated mouthpiece, it seems to be the best for allegies.
That plastic rim sounds like a good idea.

Yes a plastic mouthpiece will affect your tone! your tone will suffer if you play with a plasic mouthpiece because plastic doesn`t vibrate the way metal does. Gold is the best because it is soft and the sound resonates more. Your tone won`t be as good if you use a plastic mouthpiece but if you`re allergic to a metal one, you should probably try a gold one and if that still doesn`t work, then just use a plastic one.
