Hi, I have a little Jupiter (in fact this is my second one), and it is true fun (Rose gold lacquer coloured).

Not a serious horn, but it can really punch out a note. The bell is more like a British Bb Bugle. So it does project. It is not a Bach, but you get what you pay for. It is fun for a Band, and really can sound good with a Harmon wah-wah on the end.

There was an Aussie trumpeter who played a Pocket (Keith Hounslow - 1970s -80s), and he was good. Played mainly small groups.

Hi Kychiew,

Keith Hounslow played a Benge Pocket(I think), and he always had a Harmon on the end. I never saw him play it open throated (saw him play regularly for about a decade). He played around Oz at a lot of gigs and conventions, and played with Ralph Sutton (piano) and a few other greats at the time. He played normal trumpet and flugel as well. It just adds a balanced argument to all those who "can" the pocket, just because it is cheaper, and looks like a toy. It can be fun!

I reckon try it.. if you don`t like it then it hasn`t cost the earth. I really enjoy mine. I have a Bach Strad, Bach Mercedes, and a Sterling. Always a soft spot for the pocket..
