Time. If you`ve been playing three weeks, you need to not be thinking about getting high chops, but getting a good sound. Work of flexibilities, whole tones, and lots of lyrical stuff from the Concone book (or something like it.)
Give the range time - it`ll come along with a good sound.
Listen to lots of people, keep your mind musically oriented, and you`ll do great.
Cheers!

Take private lessons. It`s amazing how much they help you.

for a good range all you need is tight sides and lots of air! Thats what bobby shew says so there you go!! make sure the sides of your mouth are tight and get the right amount of air and you should be ok!
