Hey, I have a solo coming up farely soon on a song called Brash Machine. I can improvise fine on songs like killer joe and others but for some reason i can`t follow these cords good. Would you mind if I tell you the chords and you help me make a scale that I can look off. Appreciate it.

Do you HAVE to ryme! Just say it! For example,
i`d be nice if all trumpets could play high.
it does sound good... WHEN YOU CAN HIT THE DAMN NOTES!!!
That`s all the young kids care about(most). LOUD and HIGH, but they sound like sh*t!
No, you don`t all sound beautiful
Yes, your all Dam conceited
YEs, you play WAY to loud
Why don`t you just stop trying to show off and learn to play nice. Merry Christmas all

Jason, your an idiot. The punishment for sin is not death. Also, all of you "god" trumpet players are just concieted assholes. Shutup and learn to play.

I never said high notes sounded bad; I like them. BUT, there are more important things than high notes; tone, intonation, not being concieted. IF you can play high notes and sound good with everything else, great. Mostly, it`s these young kids attitudes that set me off.

Merry Christmas!

i resent the comment on "God" trumpet players, but will not furthur comment.

As for high notes... yeah it would be nice to hit those, and I`m sure that one day soon I`ll begin learning how. Until then, I`m perfectly content listening to beautiful solos and horn parts in the middle and upper registers. Wynton Marsalis is awesome in every range, and when he does play high, it`s controlled and sweet sounding.

To all players: Continue to aim higher, when it`s in skill or in registers.

Have to agree with parts of what everyone is stating. Its best to have full flexibility and tone in everything you play which includes the extreme high range. Lots and lots of work to get there, but those notes, when played correctly are awesome and add soooo much to great solos!

to all who think play t-pet is all about high notes!!    19:05 on Wednesday, January 12, 2005

This is to all you lame young players who think you hitting the double g`s and possible triples. All you guys are doing is blowing your chops fast. Trumpet playing is not just about high notes hell yah it`s awsome to hit tho`s and you do get to feel superior to all other band members but I got a challenge for you guys! You try going and auditioning for a corps or a honor band your high notes is not whats gonna get you in. In order to be good you have to have superior technique, know how to read the notes you are even playing!! Oh and a new concept that will prove how good you are ever heard of SIGHT READING??? If all you who think it`s just about high notes can do this with out staring at it for a hour then strugling through it. Then in my eyes you will actually be a TRUE TRUMPET PLAYER!!!!!!

Plain and simple, if you were really as good as you claim you are, you would not go around bragging about it. Let others base their opinions from their ears.

High notes aren`t everything. I`m 16 and I am comfortable around an A above the staff. I even struggle somewhat with high C`s. All my friends can play higher than me; one special kid is known to easily squeek out as high as a high G or even a double C. However, he struggles with intervals and often cracks notes on very simple passages. I am 2nd chair in my high school band because I have many other qualities besides high notes. Although my range does hold me back, it still didn`t stop me from becoming 2nd chair in my high school band.

guys, ur all baggin young kids who try to scream all the time but ur also sying that it sounds good if u do it AND get the notes. But ur neva gunna b able to get the notes if u dont try once in a while. I`m young only 14, and i can hit the triples - and get them well and strong, and i`m playing in the -at the mo- best stage band in victoria. But I went throo the crappy stage so i cood get there, but i worked my ass off and got there. So wot im really tryin 2 say is trumpet duznt need to be played high all the time screaming occasionally is good but dont bag kids who try, Wayne Bergeron was a "kid trying" at one point we all were.
