I`m getting my braces off in three weeks or so, what do you guys recommend in terms of changes in practices?
Will it make trumpet playing any easier?

you`ll need to get used to playing without them.....obviously! But just take it easy. If it starts to hurt your lips when playing just rest for a bit then go back to it. long notes are always good. Your lips just need to get into a new vibrating position so give it a bit of time. It took me a good months work to get my chops sorted again. but its worth it!!

Is it true that once you get used to not having your braces, it will increase your range?

"your an idiot to get em in the first place"
it`s actually very good to get braces. it helps your playing a lot. sure it screws you while you have them on, but once you get them off ... it`ll be a lot better
while you have your braces on it`s a good time to get ready for getting them off. then when you get them off you can be amazing.
