I was just curious to see what trumpet players love about playing the horn. Me personally, I don`t know. I mean, I`m decent but I can`t scream all day and I can`t play Carnival of Venice like a god, but the trumpet is just what I like to play. When I started, I didn`t know that I wanted to pursue trumpet at all. How much hard work does it take to get as good as some of the greats? I guess I just listen to way too many trumpet players and not practice. Well, I do but I wish I was a god. Been playing for 7 years now and I can`t believe how much crap I hear about other people just putting people down because they can`t do what they want to do. I personally believe everything that is said about how good or not good they are. I want to teach trumpet to a kid someday who will grow up and really enjoy it. But anyway, I just wanted to know what why you love trumpet. I love to hear a good sound and precision that is flawless. I love to tell someone else how to get better. I hope that I never tell anyone that they suck because they aren`t as good as I am. I don`t ever want to put anybody down because that will show that I don`t really care about the trumpet at all...just only abouy my own glory (which I have little of). Well, I`m going to wrap this up...please give your opinion about what you think about the trumpet if you want to.

It is great to hear that other people enjoy playing the trumpet as much as I do. I love it when I do things that I didn`t think I could do, like reach higher notes and things like that.
People at my school think I`m crazy. In high school, no one practices, except for tests. Which I think is bs. How are you suppose to improve? Well, it`s nice to hear that I am not crazy . . . C.A.

The trumpet (too me) is like singing and expressing my feelings. It has all of the qualities and emotion (if you feel it) of the human voice and more.

You either get it or you don`t. If you do, it is an incredible rush. If you don`t, you may still "get it" some day.

I must admit, I would be at odds to hear what the neanderthal who commented on your question in a most uncool manner would sound like playing an instrument.

but one day i listen Louis very carefully...and i fall in love with that sound, the greatest sound, and i dicover Chet, Clifford Brown, and more!

My girlfriend left me 2 years a go, so... i start to play trumpet. It`s hard and painfull, but i don`t give up. Whene i blow, the sound, all my emotion, how i fell, my soul, it`s like peace in my hearth.
I love trumpet for many reasons
