Hey cool, I just started playing trombone. Basically, imagine playing into a needle. Thats a good comparison. Its a very small embrochure, about the size of a quarter or less. Keep the sides of your lips very tight, but the center completely relaxed. Good luck.

Jay is right. I play both. Started with trumpet, then tried Bass Trumpet after about 4 years, then Trom. The sensation at first is like blowing through a pea-shooter when I switched back.
Persist, and swap around between practice. Just a few minutes first, and then you brain/lips will get used to it. The valve trombone and trumpet have the same fingerings, you it is easy in that regard.
Good luck. Don`t give up even if at first your trombone embouchure feels uneasy. You can play both.
