Can you play them cleanly by slurring? Is the tongue the only problem? can you play them cleanly with the tongue only a lot slower? Try practicing double-tonging. "dug-guh duh-guh" or Tuh-kuh, whichever you prefer and can do most cleanly.

Ohh, I`ve been having the same problem. I sond fine normally, but it gets an airy tone to it when i try to play rapid 16th notes. So, thanks for the suggestion.

I only have a problem when I play them rapidly.
Even with sluring if played rapidly they come out dull.
thanks for the tips, I guess just have to practice...

might be just that you are missing the center of the note because you are going so fast. Maybe practicing lip shakes will help you find the center quicker...? Just my $.02

i should play those 16th notes with double tounging. It`s not so easy. You have to practice it. I learned it without a teacher, so it is not very difficult. Once you know how to do the "k" it`s ok. Then you can start with a higher tempo. Practice, practice, practice...
you can play them like this: ttk ttk ttk ttk...
OR tktktktktkt...
Maybe you can ask your conductor what it must be in that piece.

just one tip: your toung must be right back your teeths. That makes it easier
