Guys ive gone to my music man and played all the trumpets ever thought up, and ive come to the decison of one of these 3 horns. What is your guys opinion of each one? Are there any problems with these horns?

The Bach Strad is recognised as the best off the shelf horn around. All others are compared to it.

IMO go Bach. But in the end buy the one you like to play best, if it comes to other reasons like value for money etc then that may influence your decision as well. I have 2 Bachs (Strad & Mercedes) and 1 Selmer Sterling, plus a few others I don`t play as much. The Strad is my preference for most playing.

I( have a Jupiter Pocket as well, and it goes well.

how do you find your Bach Mercedes? what is the average price of it?

for these 3, the Bach Strad, Getzen 900s and the Jupiter, so far i found the tribune by Jupiter much `easyier` to play, its response seemed to be better then the Bach. Im not too worried about price there is only 200 or so difference between them, i want somthing great for me, that is respected amoung other trumpeters.

The Mercedes I have had from new, and would never part with it. I got it around 1970, and it was about AUD$400 new. It is good for Jazz, and really nice to play. The older Mercs are the better ones to get, they are basically a Strad without the frills. The lacquer has faired a lot better than the Strad.

900s! 900s! :-)

It`s a very nice horn. They`ve returned it to the orignal specs even. The spec that Doc Severinsen used to play on when he used a 900s during the 60`s. The single nicest horn I`ve ever played.
