Don`t think about it. Playing the trumpet for me is all about hearing the notes before you play them. If you want to hit a high G get the sound in your mind before you play it, and you will. But dont sacrifice tonality and pitch, if you cannot play the note yet-which is understandable seeing as how you have only been playing a year and a half, take it down an octave, or play the 3rd below it, it will sound fine. But most important, you should practice range everyday. I myself have been playing for 7 years and practice almost 2 hours a day-1 hour is on range. Good luck, hope this has helped

I see your prob... but you can`t freak out about it. Cam is right try to invission it. If that don`t work which it might not it didn`t for me, you just have to forget how high it is and play it! Don`t stress out over it... it will come don`t worry. And hey at least you were with your band play`n it and not solo in front of 800 peers at a pep really and totally miss the note a screw over the whole ending.... JUST DON"T STRESS!!!..... AND PRACTICE ...lip slurs will help
