trust in yourself. Have confidence, if you know the part in and out, and you KNOW you know the part in and out, then you will play it perfectly. Just do what I do, I imagine myself in a closed room with my private lesson teacher playing, he doesnt judge, only listens, and I dont feel nervous, because i KNOW i sound good and play great. Good luck

Err well I had stage fright when i had to Play the last post for our town.. So i went there way before and i stood where i was supposed to stand and i played through it over and over. When it came time to do it. I had eliminated all the things that can go wrong. If all else fails and somthing happens and you may mess up... Just keep playing :P Tisent that bad. we have all messed up before Its how we learn.

I looooved solos in high school. you will feel powerful and buzzed when done. When it`s time, just stand up and nail it!

Hey Justin, I was in your position a couple years ago. What I did was practice scales A LOT! My director is really big on scales. So I memorized all 12 major scales. That was in 7th grade. I was 2nd chair and my best friend was in 1st. So, I practiced hard, got a private instructor, and joined the high school marching through an honor program. Plus, I showed my director I wanted to improve and that I cared. She took that into consideration when I tried out for 8th grade chairs. I got 1st chair and have carried that on through the next grade. Next year I will be the section leader for the trumpets. I have a great relationship with my director and they keep pushing me to be the best I can be. Just show your director you care. That`s a big part of it. I`m not saying be a brown nose, just show them you want to grow as a trumpeter. Hope this helps you.
