I know wat a reed is on a woodwind but wats a reed on a trumpet?

wat kiend ov qoestin iz dat?! nd, wat iz a wudwend reed! i dunt kno moch abote wudwends, but trompit reeds?

never heard of a reed in a trumpet,

maybe like one of those wooden ancient trumpets.

Ok, from the other thread, this trumpet newbie (trompit newbbie) is trying to say that trumpet reeds do exist, I, on the other hand, think they dont. I`ve seen where they put things on the bell to change the sound, but in the other thread, they say some people stick reeds into the mouthpiece. I don`t get it

okay .. they definately don`t .. why on earth would a trumpet have a reed for goodness` sakes!?!?!

oh course ... there are such things as SINGLE oboe and bassoon reeds that I had never seen before until ebay ... really strange ~ like VERY small clarinet reeds

I agree with the sarrusophone guy. Sometimes they`re called trumpets... and they play like a brass bassoon.
