Ok guys heres my beef... Jerkfaces mostly the immature, im better then the world types, come up to me and sass me on how they can play higher then me and try to belittle me. They say i dont have a high register as high as them and they are so much better then me. But to me thats not good playing, i know high register playing is one aspect of playing the trumpet, but look at Chet Baker and tell me he is horrible at the trumpet. He plays arguably the most beautiful lower range playing, which in my opinion beats high register screaming anyday. But maybe im just getting teased cause im suck i dont know. Like im learning and i can play the low range with awesome tone and flexibilty. well anyways what do you guys think about that.

Well Chet also sung, which helped boost his image. Wasnt he also one of the first so put "cool" in jazz? i dunno...
However, any trumpeter should have atleast developed the "money register" with as much ease with the lower register. Especially if they plan to make money playing the horn, its important to be fluent in all aspects of the horn such as techniques and range. Its who or what you want to sound like and that is totally up to you.

There`s a Chet Baker show on radio 2 (UK) sometime soon (heard an advert for it the other day). Once its been broadcast you`ll be able to listen to it at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Chet was missing a front tooth. That`s why he didn`t play much above high C.
