While playing A`s, B`s and such above the staff, I find my throat tends to constrict. My assumption is that I am using the throat to pressurize the air so that that notes come out. Does anyone know what I can do to stop this, especially exercises that would fix this? Thanks for the help!

Try playing High Fs and Gs over and over using DIAPHRAM and NO LIP. Play long tones. Especially in the lower register.
