Anyone ever play/own/heard of/ the new Cannonball Trumpets? Everyones heard of their Sax`s but not their trumpets. I tried one today, really nice, but I`m wondering if it`s worth the $1,300 their asking.

I have played one and although they may be a little heavy they "slot" very well and the sound has body and also when you "step" on it, it will produce an edge that is needed.

I currently own a Cannonball "Stone Series" BLACK NICKEL PLATED trumpet. This things SCREAMS!! The nickel plate is not like cheap black laquer, it actually helps tone, and is a light weight, this is a great jazz trumpet and with the weighted valve caps, it plays as good as a Bach Strad. It has a larger bore (.459) which allows for highr notes, but some people prefer a samller one to a high one. The stone in the bottom pipe actually adds a darker or richer tone without sacrificing range. A GREAT FIND/BUY!

I`ve played on a Cannonball stone series trumpet in my band class, and i would say that this trumpet is a great buy for that price, i was expecting it to be higher.

When I left the earlier post on the Cannonball Trumpets I had not bought one but since then I have purchased a Black Lacquer trumpet. It is great horn. It plays so well in tune in all the registers and it is capable of producing an "edge" without really working for it. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a pro horn at an inexpensive price. I have tried several other pro horns. If you want a very responsive heavy wall horn then this is the one for you

I just purchased the Cannonball Trumpet. I`m really happy with it. I wanted the Chicago Taylor`s Trumpet but I couldn`t see myself paying that price for it. The Cannonball Trumpet in my opinion has that dark rich sound that I was looking for. The price of the trumpet isn`t that bad. The trumpet is well built and it look good too. Once again in my opinon, I think the Cannonball Trumpet is a good instrument.
