Today some how my cat was playing with a marble and hit it into my trumpet. Now some how it is stuck in the long tube by the bell and I have tried every thing to get it out, (hitting it really hard, pouring oil down it, hot water a vacum, a pipe cleaner and even a air compresser) but nothing seems to get it out. Does any one have any ideas, please.

maybe you shouldn`t try to fix it yourself ...take it to a repair shop before you kill it

Word to that. Don`t try to rectify the situation yourself - get your trumpet to a good repair shop, they will be able to fix the problem in about 5 minutes.

I bought it in to the music person in are town and they could not get it out. They said the only way was to cut the trumpet. Then we phoned sombody in another town and they siad they a had a ball thing to get dents out and said it will get the marble out. Will anything work?

The exact same thing happened to me this week. Believe it - I believe you. I have not been able to do anything about it. I taped a smaller rubber hose from an auto parts store to my vacuum cleaner, tried using it to pull on the marble and it seemed to force the marble in. The repair method with the thing that removes dents sounds like it will help us both.

It sure is annoying. You can see the marble but can`t pull it out? Much more complicated than it looks.

Normally a bucket of chicken will solve any problem, but not this one. If it makes you feel any better, indulge yourself. It can calm you down if needed, and helps us maintain our focus and perspective.

a good repair shop (ie friendly one) won`t charge you a thing..but you`ll have to think of a good story to explain it good luck with the marble
