Hi~

I play oboe along with some other instruments such as *drum roll* FIFE!!! I was just wondering if anyone else out there played this instrument. If so, I`d love to hear from you, either by email and msn im(boovp1@hotmail.com)or aim (myoboerules) I hope to hear from somebody!!!! And also, if any of you play oboe, I`d still like to hear from you!

a fife is about the size of a piccolo....(not sure though, never compared them) it has an air hole, and and 6 key holes.....mine, just the holes, but i think some have an actual key on them. they were used during the civil war and things like that. they sound sorta like a piccolo, if you watch a `war` movie, something prolly about civil war or if you`ve seen The Patriot with mel gibson, what sounds like a picc is a fife....i don`t really know any other way to explain it...

I play the fife and trumpet...the fife is a really cool instrument. I`ve played the flute b4 too..and I think the fife is harder to make a sound on than the flute.

I play the fife and i love it. It is suck a great instrument and it is a shame that some people have a problem with the sound! I play it with a Rev War reenactment group!! I would be happy to hear from anybody who has some great new music or anything!!

Hey, I just got a fife when I was in Gettysburg. I play the flute and I found this a lot harder to pick up, but I`ve finally got the hang of it. How`d you get involved in playing in reenactments?
