hey dubz,

here`s some info..

Internationally known pianist and composer, Edward Simon, is at the Jazz Standard, NY, NY for four nights: March 15th-16th, with his Venezuelan Project, and March 17th-18th, with his All-Star Trio. He will be premiering his much anticipated composition, “Venezuelan Jazz Suite”, on March 15th-16th, with the Venezuelan Project (Including the unbelievable John Patitucci on bas... The ensemble’s graceful integration of musical cultures, improvisational pacing, creativity and precision make listening to them a remarkable experience.

”His structures incorporate intricate harmonies, sophisticated contrapuntal voicings, effervescent odd-metered rhythms, and the serene, melancholic melodies of Venezuelan folk music. “ – Ted Panken, DownBeat Magazine (Sept 2005)
