it is not wrong to play two instruments, but i do advise that you learn one at a time. a friend of mine has learned three instruments in the past year and he sucks.

It`s perfectly acceptable to play numerous instruments. Most musicians do play more than one. I can`t even count all of the instruments I play. Of course, keep one or two as your main instruments that you study regularly.

My mom thinks it wrong, `cause I`m learning so many insturments and it`s taking over my whole room.

Ive been told its bad to play cerain combinations
For example, i play the trumpet and the clarinet and i have been told that because the two instruments use different muscles i could ruin me obishure (sp?)
i can c where they are coming from but wether its true i dont no
but playing two woodwind instruments is fine or piano and trumpet ect

Nothing wrong with learning more than one instrument at a time. I play in a community band next to a trumpet player who also plays trombone and horn. He has a teenage daughter who plays oboe, violin, piano and tuba and sings like an angel as well. Last year I played 2nd chair in our local university`s concert band where the principle trumpet player also plays clarinet, piano, harpsichord, and percussion. So I`d say it`s a safe bet that no one is going to criticize anyone who is multi-talented enough to handle more than one instrument.
