PEACE!!! im tryin 2 meet new ppl so i thought it would b a good idea 2 start a forum where ne 1 can write their most hilarious band stories so make me laugh. here's mine: bak during marching season me (8th grade 2nd year), matt (7th grade rookie), and his little brother david (6th grade beginner& band manager) were coming bak from band practice and matt was playin his baritone. i was jokin around with him and i kept punchin him in the back. well eventually i accidentally hit him 2 hard and he started cryin and handed the baritone to david who didnt get a good grip on it and dropped it. (brand new $3K baritone owned by the school) he picks it up and starts playin it and matt says "shut the hell up" so david spins around, purposely dropping the baritone this time, and lunges on matt, throwing him to the ground and choking him. so i pull them apart and david grabs the baritone and walks ahead. i start askin matt if hes ok and he says yes. well 1 of the older managers saw the whole thing and catches up with david and tells him to stop. so he spins around THROWING THE BARITONE DOWN ON GRAVEL and starts yelling at the older manager. about this time amber, my section leader (11th grade and dr. conaways daughter) comes driving by and sees it. she slams on her brakes and tells baker, who was riding in the car with her (7th grade rookie) to open the door. she starts yellin at david to go upstairs to the band room and talk to her dad. so he grabs th baritone and goes. a little later im coming out of the bandroom after putting up my trombone and doc is talking to david and his dad at the top of the stairs. he stopps me as i walk by and asks me what happened and i tell him through davids angry protests. so from then on every time i see david in the hall way he would make sum smart remark to me like "o yeah i really attacked him!" a few weeks later im goin bak 2 the bandroom after a football game and im on the fone with my dad tellin him 2 come pik me up and david comes up in front of me and says "u wanna piece of me" so i tell my dad ive gotta go and say "yea i wanna piece of u ya little worm!" but b4 he could do nething his dad comes up and tells him hed better keep walking. so later im tellin my friends about it and i say "if he keeps this up im gonna beat his guts out" well he hears about this and on my way out of the bandroom ron (9th grade 3rd year) tells me that he said "if u touch me im gonna kill u" and trust me this kid is demented and if he says hes gonna kill u u better watch out. so i go lookin 4 him but the frikin coward has dun left. i was so mad that when i was tellin my mom about it i actually cussed in front of her. so in the great words of forest gump "thats all ive got 2 say about that" wats ur story?

LOL!!

Oh I've got lots of stories from my days singing/playing in bands....

One that springs to mind is being chatted up by a rather strange groupie who wouldn't take his eyes off me. Peculiar looking, with a very quiet voice which meant you had to lean towards him to hear what he was saying, shifty eyes behind thick rmmed glasses... You get the picture?

I started getting nervous as it wasn't like normal ppl, who watch, turn away, talk to their mates, drink, etc., this guy never looked away, he was scary!

Well, we reach the end of the set and the end of the night and start to pack away. This guy thinks he's pulled as I was polite and chatted away to him during the half-time interval...

I'm looking to my other two band members (both male) to help me out here and making eyes at them - HELP, EEEK, RESCUE ME..... and they're both sitting there laughing their sox off.

Eventually I manage to say goodbye to this groupie and extracate myself from his in-your-face conversational chat-up style. I was so embarrassed.

OOO you've pulled there, they said, as I joined them to help pack the rest of the gear away.... And for weeks afterwards, they were still on about my excellent pulling power ;(

Well, THEY thought it was funny!
