Okay I am new to this site.

I am trying out for drum major May 19th and I am pretty confident I can get it because I have seen the others conduct. Some tips for my tryout would be great, but I would really like some help with this speech I am to give the first day of band camp.

It's a pretty small band, with only about 30. We do mostly halftime shows and festivals. Only one parade. I know most of the band members pretty well and I think it would be a bit akward giving a sirius speech to people I joke with all the time. Also there are a few members who are a grade ahead of me. The new band members usually stay pretty quiet.

Okay that is a summary of band life for me. I would be forever grateful to anyone who could help me in any way shape or form.
