As a Mum of four children, three of whom are into music, my finances are very stretched. Where can I find free/very cheap software for writing music? Or if that isn`t possible a font that has cleffs, notes etc?

you can get a demo of some music writing programmes, but they`re all limited. In the sibelius demo, you cant save or stuff like that, and on Noteworthy Composer, you can save 10 times. i personally would go for the Noteworthy one, but i think its a 30 day trial... i dunno... but i dont know what the website is either...

Hi Philippa
Without giving too much away (!) it might be worth checking back to this site over the next few months - we may have a little something up our sleeves!

You can download the free Finale Notepad Software (2002 version) from http://www.codamusic.com/coda/ I used this for a long time before I finally bought a set of full version sequencers. It really is very good, and very easy to use.
