A budy just gave me an old fluted olds and there is some rust inside the outer slide that is causing it to hang anybody got any ideas about removing it.

I tried soaking it in a mild solvent it helped some but i want it to be fast. It is only a toy for me as i now have 6 pro horns but it would be nice if it played well too.

If you have 6 pro horns, i think it would be kind of obvious that you should know how to take care of your horns.... The best thing you should do is take it to a shop to have them get the rust out. A stell wool cloth would help, but it would be very difficult to get all the way down.

if this process doesn't get your slide clean, I don't know what will..
something that does help.. go to the automotive department at Kmart or WalMart and get some Marvel Mystery Oil... the Slide DR recommended it to me and it really helped.
