i am a girl and play the trombone it feels weird because it is big while other girl have small little petite cases and i have a big one i lkike it any body know any ways to get trombone fingering hart?please respond

buy one of those beginning trombone charts. they have some good stuff in there like charts for all the positions. good luck and remember to have fun

lol, i know what you mean about the trombone being so bulky and akward. I just got a new trombone that has an open wrap, and it basically comes up to my head. im 5`4 and the trombone is 5`0... just something you have to get used to. its also a pain in the but when im wearing stileto pumps, and im trying to carry it from one end of campus to the other... but ohh well... one of the little pains of playing the trombone.

Oh believe me, I know what you mean. Im the only girl trombone player in my whole town but Im first chair out of 9 guys. Most people are shocked when they hear i play trombone, but hey, i love the instrument! just have fun with it and you can totally beat some one up with your case if they ever give you any grief for it

Think of it this way: Millions of girls play piano, and that`s WAY bigger than a trombone.

Also, lots of guys sing, and the vocal folds aren`t very big at all. lol. Of course there`s the rest of the mechanism too... but I think it doesn`t count cause you use it for all the wind instruments.

I must admit, I have been guilty of being shocked to find out that a certain girl plays the trombone. But that was in college; in high school I knew lots of girl tromboners.

Heh. Yea, I know how you feel. Most of my friends play either flute or clarinet, and they sometimes don`t understand that I can`t fit my trombone case in my locker, but the cool thing is that I can use it as a plow to get through the halls.

I know what you feel- try carrying round a bass trombone which is, like, double the size of you, however, I play the cello also and thats in a hard case so thats 3 times the size of me.
And carrying round both...
Just remember that the trom is SO much cooler than a flute

oh, i know how you feel. ALL of my friends who are girls play either flute, clarinet, or oboe. AND in 6th grade when i got first chair i was discriminated against. where are all the girl trombones in region band? *mourns*
