I am the only KOREAN (male) Trombone in my state that tried out for the Regions and such...T_T also, I think I was the ONLY korean in the Juilliard Pre-College for a Low-Brass instrument....

Ok. I know this is late but here is a message for you......Shut up and get over it. All the flutes are jelous of your being surronded by guys. Thats why I`m 3rd chair. Just love plaing. I do.

My primary instrument is F horn, but I recently learned tbone for jazz and marching band, to replace trumpet. I think the more girls, the better. Like people have said, my girl (band) friends all play flute or clarinet, but I`ve got a whole different group of guy friends who are tbones and saxes. I`m the only girl who hangs out with them, as well as the only girl in my band not a flute or clarinet, and I have so much more fun than they do.

Girls who break the gender barriers should never feel awkward just because we are doing something unexpected. In my opinion, people who play an instrument typically of the opposite gender are some of the coolest people in the band.

Hey I`m a girl and when i started in 5th it was two girls then the other quite and she tryed to make fun of me for being the only girl T-bone player and so I took my case and hit her in the side and then said that another girl was joining cause she was and then she quit and I was the only T-bone player for most of the year(no guys even they all quit after 5th)but I am still first T-bone I was in 5th and I always will be until freshmen year then I will probaly get 2nd but I will try for jazz band also in hi-school. but just remeber that if I can do it you can also!sorry I talked so much...

hi girls what is new? that is kool how there is a topic like this one on the internet, i think that it is great for the girls that play the tb in band. and it makes us feel that we are not the only girls in the world that play TV thumbs up

there is one girl a good trombonest in my grade (sophmore)and two incoming freshmen girl trombone players,they say they can play with good range but i cant hear them when they are needed to play so try your hardest so you dont get into a position like that

If u ask me, i dont think its strange at all, because everywhere i go, there are girls playing marching horn and baritone, and even the big... VERY big wraparound tuba. i play the trombone too, and it would be cool to have a girl in my section

hey, what is it with everyone thinking a trombone is such a geeky instrument anyway? is because of the slide? personally i took up the trombone because of the sound you get from it. trombone is too universal to be a stupid instrument.
