Well, I would say that the best way, is to actually PLAY the instrument, and use several mouthpieces...to get the sound and feeling of everything....but then, the `best` brand is always an opinion. for me, the Bach trombones are the best brand that i ever played so far...but who knows...xD

It has been my experience that Asian people tend to be smart and hardworking, so "Asian Mono" might not be a bad thing. Especially when the alternative is to be as dumb and retarded as you.

Asian HORNS suck badly, yes. Asian people, on the other hand, which I think is what they were talking about, do not.
This thread should die.

The best trombone brands can be debated over and over again. Everyperson you ask is going to have another opinion. Personally, the Conn 88H-O deserves to be at the top. It has a large bore which gives you that dark warm sound that every trombone player desires. I recommend getting one with the Rose
Brass Bell. This allows for a warmer, richer tone quality. The open wrap style of the f-attachment is clean and has smooth, minimal curves. Opposed to close wrap, open wraps keep the sound flowing allowing for a cleaner crisper sound when using the f-attachment. The slides for these horns are fantastic opposed to Bach. For the price and Quality, the Conn 88H is your best bet.

Bass bone recommendations

My Conn 88H is a good horn, but I hunger for a bass with two independent valves. The Getzen Eterna looks great in pictures, but I don`t think a single player in the Western N Y State area has even seen one (and we have a lot of trombone players here!) Any one have a take on the Getzen? Or... share opinions about other modestly-priced bass t-bones.

if you have not tried an edwards trombone you have missed out on some quality sounds that comes out so naturally from this horn. they design the instrument to meet your personal needs and with the interchangeable lead pipes you can create different sounds for the style of music you play. i have been very pleased with mine which in equiped with a sterling silver lead pipe that produces such a mellow sound that i could not believe it at first. this instrument has changed my opinion of how a trombone should sound and in my ability to play more precise. try one sometime.

Okay, I know this may sound strange and I`m slightly embarassed to bring this up but I thought if anyone could help me out I could find them here. I`m a freshman in high school and I`ve been playing a King 606 for a couple of years now, well actually I`ve been playing since I started but that`s beside the point. I would like to purchase a new trombone but still play the same type yet a level up (sorry if this isn`t making any sense) but I`m not sure what the differences are between the various types of trombones. I`m in the marching band and symphonic band so i would need something the would work well for both. If anyone could help me that would be absolutely wonderfull. Thanks.
