Alright, this is one of the most popular questions out there. It all depends on what you like to play. Do you like playing melody, high notes, and having frequent solos in the band? If so, choose trumpet. Or do you like glissandoing, playing harmony, playing in the middle register, and just all around supporting other players to make the band sound like what it is? If so, choose tromobne. Trumpet is for people who need to be noticed all of the time. Trombone players are the quieter ones that are kind of the center of the band and support everyone.

i choose trumpet, personally, i dont think trumpets like to be noticed, im the shiest person in the band and i play trumpet. but i`m second chair in concert band.
