neither is easier. they are both extremely hard.
if you are lookin for easy go look up some guitar.
im not trying to tell you you shouldnt play trombone or trumpet, im telling you that you shouldnt be playing them if you arent in it to work. and guitar is easy enough. so go learn some metallica tabs. =)

no, actually guitar is an extremely difficutl instrument. I would like to see you play a solo like jimi page, or hendrix, or santana, or steve vai, or joe satriani. That is, if you even know who most of these people are. GUitar is not quite as difficult as wind instruments. Not quite, because it is much easier to play in tune, but still fairly difficult. If you want an easy instrument to play in band, pick up percussion. All you have to do is worry about what your hands are doing. Assuming you will play something like snare or bass drum. Tympanis and marimbas and other such things can be very difficult. Clarinet is also another fairly easy instrument. All brass instruments are more difficult in my opinion than woodwinds because it is much easier for them to play in tune than us. Especially trombone players. It is a very difficult instrument to keep in tune.

Actually, guitar is much easier to learn then trombone, or other wind instruments. Not a little, a lot. I`d like to see you play a Jimi Page, or Hendrix, or Santana, or Steve Vai, or Joe Satriani solo on trombone. Possible? No. And it’s not just that the instrument is different. It`s easier to learn guitar then brass. Not that it is easy to play, just easier than learning trombone for the first time.
And don`t start thinking that percussion is easy. The world of percussion is one of the hardest to get into. Unless you think you are going to be a snare or timpani or marimba player. Unfortunately, the life of a percussionist is not limited to one of these. You have to learn them ALL to be successful.
As for clarinet and other woodwinds being easier… I wouldn’t say that so fast. You ever try to play a bassoon or oboe in tune? Not easy. Plus, the repertoire is completely different. You wouldn’t be able to come close to playing some of those crazy woodwind runs on trombone, or even trumpet. And vice versa, they wouldn’t be able to do some of the complex and uber powerful sections that we do.
In my opinion, there really isn’t an “easy” instrument to “learn”. Every one of them is just as complex and difficult as any other, just in different ways. So to answer the original question, what instrument is easier? None. There is no such thing as an “easy” instrument. Some are easier to learn at first then others, but once you get into the professional level of playing, one instrument is never any easier then another.

ok i play trumpet just whenever i want and trombone in jazz band, trumpet is easier for me because it was my first instrument, but treble clef(trumpet) is harder than bass, because bass`s first note on the staff is G than ABCDEFG but the first note on the treble clef is E than FGABCDE do its harder to learn, trombone is harder because there are so many positions and its harder to sight read and have to figure out what position A natural is(or atleast for me) but trumpet is just as hard because it requires alot more mouth muscles, because hey, youre only working with three valves here, and on both instruments you have to concentrate on your tone and range, so hopefully that helped you, but only do an instrument because you like it, not because its easier
