I don`t use an 11C. WAAAAAAAAY to small. For my small jazz horn, a Bach Strad 16M, I use a Dennis Wick 6bs.
The point is, try a bunch. Find one you like that sounds good and is comfortable at all dynamics, the entire range, and all different styles and articulations.
One persons favorite (Mas` 11C) could be anothers nightmare (mine).

A 22 what? What brand?
Mouthpieces are wierd monsters. It`s all personal. If the piece works, use it. If it doesn`t, go shopping. I`ve seen bass bone players using Bach 4 or 5`s cause they like them and still have a full low range. And vice versa, for a while in college I used a Marcinkowicz George Roberts Custom (bass bone piece) for principle Wind Ensemble and Orchestra work. I liked it, and had no problem with the range.

well i say 11c because well a few reasons.
bob mcchesney andy martin alex iles
just a few reasons. everybody seems to like the way they mate up to the smaller horns. it may be a old school thing.
because i agree. i use a bach 5 for my small horn. but everybody else i know uses a 11c. i dont know what the deal is, my teacher was telling me that horns like teh bach 12 like the 11c and they just mate well. who knows.

I suppose that would work for a smaller horn, like the Bach 12. I use a Bach 16, so I need a little more gusto, hence the DW 6bs. I guess I`m just a fan of the bigger, deeper, darker sound you get with slightly larger equipment.
Of course, I do also have a Jet Tone Urbie Green model. Great little pea-shooter piece, man I can relly wail on it. But, anything under tuning Bb sounds like azz.

Yea, ive never been a small sound kind of person.
im a fan of jj johnson`s sound because of that silk he puts out of his horn every time. but if it sounds small, i dont want a piece.
