What mouthpiece should I get for a trombone player that has many jazz solos but desires a beautiful tone?

really no easy answer.. especially without more info.
what horn will it be played on? will the player be switching between a large and small tenor?
some players (like myself) were just not meant to play small mpcs. I use an unusually large mpc for my lead playing compared to most people (somewhere between a 3 and a 4 rim)
that said, 12C, 11c, 7C, and 6.5AL are all popular choices.

small tenor, preferably something that is an easy switch back and forth from a 12E for lead work.

why switch at all? many small tenor players get a beautiful tone on a 12C or even smaller.
