I have a holten widened been trigger trombone and I'm very happy with it. To top it all of it was only 1,100 dollars. But the yamaha you are talking about will do just fine.

Louis, Blessing is a decent brand, but different.

I would really talk to your parents about kicking in another 500, and you can get a
Conn 88H or a Bach 42BO Stradivarius. My friend got a 42BO for about 1800, and it's a horn he'll play for the rest of his life.

My point is: You can spend 1300 now, and spend 2000 later when you upgrade again, or you can spend 500 more and get a horn you'll use for a very long time unless you go pro.

Actually, I'm looking at the Yamaha 640 right now. That's the one I'm probably going to be getting.

Whoever said that Blessings are the best brand next to Bach shouldn't be taken seriously. I guess they've never tried Shires, Edwards, Greenhoe, Rath, etc. I hear that the new Conns are pretty darn good too.
