no matter who you ask, you will never get a correct answer about mouthpieces/horns/anything involving components for instruments;ecpecially mouthpieces. but a mouthpiece for jazz, it doesn't matter at all. I've played a Bach 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece and a Christain lindburg 4 CL and then a bach megatone 5G all for jazz. yah, some people disagree i should use these, but they are basing all of their opinions and what they think is right for themselves, only way to know which mouthpiece is right for anything is to try it out. But really, the point of this is that no one can tell you the mouthpiece you need for a cetain brass instrument; and that any mouthpiece will work for jazz, doesn't matter if its a beginning band mouthpiece thats 85 years old, or a dennis wick straight off the line mouthpiece, as long as you can play as well as you like on it and you are satified with it, then you can play it for any music.

There is no standard "best" mouthpiece for playing jazz. The best mouthpiece is the one that works best for you. For jazz, I've seen people use everything from a Bach 12C all the way down to a 4G. I use a fairly unique model myself: It's a Doug Elliott XT 104N rim, D cup, and D3 shank. The rim is similar in size to a Bach 3G rim, and the cup is similar to a 7C.

I was just wondering if any of you people know what the thing on the end of the trombone is. I mean the thing by the tuneing slide. Some trombone have it with the name of the company. (Bach Conn Yamahaa) I want to replace mine with something better, something flashier or better looking.
