I've been playing on the same mouthpiece my entire trombone career, and the Bach 6 1/2 is getting old. I'd like to try something new, so I'm think about possibly getting this mouthpiece: http://cgi.ebay.com/Giardinelli-SYM-AL-Trombone-Mouthpiece-w-24K-Gold-Rim_W0QQitemZ130062518679QQihZ003QQcategoryZ64378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130062518679
Anyone have any experience with this? It looks nice, and their violin strings are semi-decent (yes, I play violin). I like the gold plating and the fact that it's similar to the Bach. ANY help is appreciated.

My advice is short and simple.

Try before you buy.

Make sure YOU like it, that's the onelt thing important. If you can, go test one somewhere with a teacher or very good player for them to listen to you on it.

That being said, I've never used Giardinelli pieces before, they always seemed like knockoffs from other major brands... Remember, Giardinelli is a major online warehouse-style store.
