Hello! I'm a pianist and I would buy a Jean Baptiste Mini Trombone \ Slide Trumpet (in Bb) for my nephew. He is a trombone student and he has a Yamaha Tenore Trombone. Can he play a Mini Trombone / Slide Trumpet or is it an instrument for trumpet players ? Which are the differences ?

Generally, it's the trumpet players who will play a slide trumpet. A trombonist can do it, but it's a drastic difference in mouthpiece. If he's not a very seasoned player, it could give him problems.
