Alright, so after trying many different trombones, I'm torn between the final two: The King 3b and the Conn 6h..

So, I want your opinion on how they measure up to each other, in terms of sound, response, etc., whether you've played either or just heard either.

Thanks!

You tried them both... Which one did you like better?
(For what it's worth, I play a 3B with a sterling silver bell... fantastic horn, big sound, lots of projection, good slide. But it's what I like and what works for me. Your mileage may vary.)

Well, I did love both of them, but the main thing I'm deciding on is the sound. The King 3B gave me a great J J Johnson-like sound, but I suppose it would be best for me to find my own sound, and a Conn 6H would be better for that...

Both of them were made of normal brass. How does sterling silver affect the sound? Some people have told me it adds more resistance and its harder to play louder, some have said the opposite. I suppose your opinion would be better, seeing as you actually have a sterling silver horn.

For me, the sterling silver bell allows for better projection and better high volume playing.
Just remember, you will sound like you on any horn you play.
