I am doing the bass trombone competition for the Pershing's Own Band/Eastern Trombone Workshop. The solo for my category is the Walter Hartley Sonata Breve for Bass Trombone. It's a 12 tone piece, and unaccompanied. I've never played a 12 tone solo, or even an unaccompanied solo for that matter.. I'm having a tough time interpreting how to play the piece, and I can't find a recording or anyone who has even heard the piece before. I'm trying to upload and post a link of a recording of me playing the first mvt. Me and a buddy had a little time yesterday and got ahold of our music hall and the recording equiptment. It isn't perfect, and it's a work in progress. Anyone know how I can post it?
