I play the trombone and I like the trombone so much better. You can also play some notes as high as a trumpet if you`re really good. And we can play awesome low notes, have you ever heard a trumpet low note, it`s not pretty.
Go t-bones!!!

There is no "easy instrument"...they all have their challenges...have you ever actually played a trumpet? How about a trombone? You should try them out...personally, id cheer for the trombone, but thats pretty much because i play one...see which one you prefer...playing an instrument is a beautiful thing...but make sure you enjoy whatever it is that you do decide to play...

HAHA well ive played trumpet for a good 9 years and currently in the post 509 military band. Now if you want to know which is easier..........well dont ever look at trumpet. Dont count it out either because trumpet is what keeps most bands together. It is also one of the most versital instruments because of its range and brass sound. Its also a fun instrument because it always gets solos (simle.

What was the point of even asking a question like this?

If you post "should I play trombone or trumpet" on a TROMBONE player forum, guess what the general consensus is gonna be?

I was a trombone major in college. I added trumpet on later, learning to play while teaching young students. I later began playing principle trumpet. I started getting calls to "double" on both trumpet and trombone. I did a lot of professional vocal back-up playing. I couldn`t play trombone as good as a lot of people and I couldn`t play trumpet as good as a lot of people...but I could do pretty good on both! I ended up getting many calls.

As for your question on which one is harder? Trombone is more difficult in the beginning. As you advance then trumpet becomes more difficult. Trumpet players have to "live their horn." You don`t play a trumpet...you try and become one. Or...you quit playing. Trombone, on the other hand can be played (or maintained) reasonably well without a lot of practice (once you have achieved the level).

Good Luck!

Actually the trombone is easier because you don`t have to screw with fingering. You do have to have slide oil though, but the sound is way better if you like low instruments.
