I use slide-o-mix ALL THE TIME. I think its the best.

John Upchurch (AKA The Slide Dr.) says that it builds up in the slide too much but I haven't expirienced that enough to make me switch. However....After applying the small bottle to the slide, I like to wipe it clean before adding the large bottle. I think that without wiping down the slide inbetween bottles, the slide can become kinda gummy. But as far as slide treatments go, Slide-O-Mix > anything else.

(i think I heard it could also depend on your type of horn...)

Yamaha has been making a new slide oil for a couple of years now, it's very similar to slide'O'mix, but it's in a single bottle and costs a fraction of the price (5 to 7$ depending on where you buy it).

By the way, when using slide'o'mix you're not supposed to use both bottles on the same area of the slide (small bottle goes on stockings, large bottle drops from the top of the slide)
