For years I played a Bach Strad 42. Great horn, and I almost got another one, this time the 42 with a Haggman valve, gold brass bell, and nickel silver slide.

Glad I didn`t. Great horn, but I recently got my Edwards T-350. BEST HORN EVER. However, it is huge, so I don`t use it for jazz. In jazz and Latin I use a Bach Strad 16m, gold brass bell and nickel silver slide. Great horn. In my opinion the only thing better for jazz is a King Silversonic 3B.

Also have a Holton TR-181 bass. It`s pretty good, not the best, but as I am not a bass player, it works.

The Edwards, however, is by far the best horn I have ever touched. And I looked around and experimented extensively for quite a while, several years actually. The Edwards was the best, so the Edwards I bought.

I love my Conn 8H (1965). Very open and pure sound.

I also have an Olds Recorder (with F trigger - 1965), which I used primarily for playing jazz and rock/ska music. Too stuffy/tinny for my taste, but it sounds good on the rock stage.
