Do lip slurs on the highest notes you can slur, and eventually the range will come.

Just keep practicing, really. I practiced hard, and now I can reach high HIGH B Flat.

Lip slurs help a great deal. Also, you can exercise your cheek muscles (your "corners") anytime. Just tighten them. It will feel weird, but if you are doing it right, you will be able to feel your face and notice that they are tense. They will become sore very quickly if you are doing it right, but if you practice this whenever you can, your range will increase more quickly.

The best way i know, because i now can do it, is by playing whole notes. start with C ( 1 ledger line) and work your way up to the high F then hear the pitch in your head and play it in fourth position. If you can`t play it in fourth position, try sharp second position. Sharp sercond is easier for me.

well all of you are correct that will work but if you want it sooner than later, more preshure less air. that is what i tell the middle school kids in the area. (If you believe that then your prety dumb) Range comes from the air in your guts more so othan from your lips. Try this pull the mouthpiece away from your lips till it is just touching them then buss a low note bflat is good. now have somone punch you in the gut i bet you hit a d with out tightening your lips at all. Of course lip slurs are the second major piece to range but i bet you have a high bflat in you right now. Good luck oh dont try to play high till you have a 15 minit warm up. that will help too.

I found that if you work on getting as little preasure as possible then trying to attain high notes, it works wonders. Of course, using almost no pressure is something that even professional trombonist have trouble with. But working on less preassure rather than high notes will pay off in the end.

Yea.. I believe that lip slurs are the best thing to do... I`m only a sophomore in high school and I am hitting notes above high b flat... Just sit down at home and start at the highest note you can play and then move up half a step and back down... this helped me a lot...

G is nothing. I can get to the high b flat ( 4 ledger lines above the bass clef) easily and go higher. Now can anyone play above the HIgh F ( 4 ledger lines above tenor clef)? That`s a challenge for me. Some trombonists can go really really high. (Like an octave above high F). Most trombonists can play the b flat above the high f. ( that is still pretty high, and that note is considered in the upper range or the trumpet which is saying something.

Hi
In fact, you CAN play as higher as you like. I play the high F and more putting my lips ahead and using a big pressure.
Watrous`s metod great for that
