Jess, are you taking up the horn as well? They have a great sound but nothing close to a trombone.

No. Where I live (apartment) it wouldn`t go over too well. My main instruments are my voice and guitar. I am a big fan of brass though and just happen to love the sound of the trombone. It influences my big band-style singing. Early Frank Sinatra and Perry Como recordings are my main influence though.

I happen to be a chick that plays the trombone. I have been playing for 12 years and i have been playing professionally for four. I love it, the trombone is a great instrument. Jazz you could say is my forte. Hopefully i will be playing in the St. Louis University Jazz band this coming year. Wish me luck.

I wish you all the best of success with your budding career, Kelly. Play your trombone beautifully and proudly!! It`s the best jazz horn around.

Anyone have any insight about the Bach Omega MG293 model???    16:53 on Tuesday, January 4, 2005

I will be attending St. Louis University in the fall of 05`. Great jazz community. But I have a question. Right now, I have a Benge .547 intermediate trombone. I am looking into finding a good professional trombone particularly from Bach. I found two Bach Omega MG293, for a really good price, but I have never heard of the Omega model. Does anyone have any insight on that type of Model. It has a traditional wrap, .525 bore, 8 inch bell, 3 toned, and a mechanical trigger, most of the things i am looking for, but i would like to find out more about the Omega model before I invest a lot of money into a new trombone. Thanks.

well i know my boyfriend played an omega last year, but it wasnt very good tone quality(although that could have been cause its like a dented up piece of school owned junk) but he really didnt like it. i like bach a lot and thats what i usually play. yamaha has some nice ones too although they arent the cheapest tbones out there...
