hah am i the only girl trombone player who ISNT a huge geek? i play it but it isnt my whole life wow. im not a band geek at all and if anyone was to ever call me it i wouldnt say "thanks". my band teacher made me play trombone because when i tried it out i was better than other people at it and our band needed a trombone player. are there any people who are popular or NOT geeks/band geeks/people who get made fun of who play trombone?

Hi. I`m the only girl at my high school that plays trombone. I am 1st chair but am not a band geek as I am also cheerleading captain and girlfriend of the football captain.

Couldn`t have said it better, Ric. I truly think that it is so beautiful to see and hear a lady play the trombone. The sound of the instrument plus the sight of her playing is almost too much to take!!

You can play lower and make far more noise than anybody else! Hehe. Everyone kinda laughs at me cause Im kinda short (5`2) and sitting there on the end of a row of 4 guys playing troms but hey! I make more noise than them combined.

let me tell you gals the only reason why i play the bone is cause of some cute chick i had a crush on. she was so good that when she played, she made me feel like a joke. but i remember her sound as being so beautiful, so raw, so agressive and damn when the band played, all you could hear was the lead trumpet, her, and the drums. so now i must imagine every gal has her sound. so amazing.........

i have played trombone for 7 years now(both concert and jazz bands in school)and i love it!

I have tried valve trombone and it is awsome.
I happen to 1st chair of a 500 member band (30 trombones) I am a sohmore and I love band I am a senior and I play concert ,jazz andconcert bans at a school called Thosand oaks hs in california.
I play bass,tenor soprono and tenor trigor. You could say that I am a trombone freak.
I didn`t even tell you guys that I play flut and picalo on top of trombone. and with all that I still have a life don`t worry

Youz need to get off of this "geek" thing. To be a musician, especially a trombone player is COOL! The coolest of jazz players started out in school bands. Always keep that in mind and forget about the "band geek" mentality. Being a musician should never be something regarded as negative. And a lady playing trombone is as beautiful as it gets!
