Does anyone have tips for balancing trumpet playing and trombone playing, practice time lengths for a trombonist who is picking up trumpet for fun?

It`s easier to switch from trumpet to trombone, as the larger mouthpiece is more controllable and thus easier to transition into. The problem is getting enough air into the horn in a quick transition. Switching from bone to trumpet gives less note precision while adjusting to the new mouthpiece size. The transitioning in general is not actually too difficult.
