I was just wondering what other trombonists opinions were towards "scream" playing (like scream trumpet)?

I mean like playing scream on trombone instead of trumpet or with trumpet sry.

As trombone players just cant scream like trumpets. Its mainly the limitations of the bone. Sure i can scream a doubleBb at the end thetune it just wont project like the trumpet. but you could scream into the mic!!

Have you ever heard of David Steinmeyer? He can scream like a trumpet and carry.

Listen to James Morrison - Aussie Trumpet player. He toured the states with the Ray Brown Big Band a few years ago, and won his spot as a Trombone player. Then they heard him play Trumpet. He plays most brass instruments is is a true multi-instrumentalist. Does them all like each is his prime instrument.

On Bone he does all sorts of great tricks, like Chords etc. And yes the Bone can scream!! Try to get a listen to him.

I`ve thought about screaming on trombone before. How would a trombone player go about doing that though? Isn`t it mostly for trumpets? It Would be cool though.

We don`t usualy have opportunities to scream like trumpet players, but every once in a while you get that chance, and man is it fun.

I NEED HELP! I`ve been trying to scream on trombone for awhile now but i can`t. I have a solid range up to high Bb and can`t seem to be solid with anything above that. I`ve been trying for a year with lip slurs and long tones but i need help what do I do, some of my music calls for it.
