Can someone tell me what the bass trombone has on it that makes it different from an f-valve trombome.

I have two that look the same except one has an extra key for the thumb as well as the f-valve. So I don`t know which is the bass trombone.

Thanks.

It`s the one with the extra key. U can also compare the two bells and see which is bigger. The bigger one is a bass.

they both might be bass horns. Bass horns used to just have one valve. More reciently they have 2. Any bone with 2 lefthanded valves is a bass.(somone will probobly prove me wrong with some obscure brand) the way to tell a bass bone is to play down the scale from bflat to pedal bflat now how much lower can you go and sound good.(be honest when does the tone quality get well not so hot) If it gets past pedal bflat and still sounds good then there you go bass bone.
