Hi, I just recently purchased a custom jazz horn from Getzen. I was playing on it (sounds great) but I`ve noticed the first position sticks for some reason. It seems like if I push into first postion light enough, it wont stick but otherwise it does. It seems like the slide sets in if I push into first hard enough. Could this be for the slide lock, and maybe an aid for securing it? I have a 1047R also by Getzen and it does not have this issue. Sorry for the confusing explanation, but any help would be appreciated!

-Thanks

Is this a brand new horn? take it back!!!! if not there is one more thing it could be. there could be cork at the top of the slide that is old or roting. Take it to a good slide dr and they can make it all better.

Yeah, it could be a cork or a piece of rubber at the top of where the slide comes into first position.
