there a couple great groups in texas. I think it is west texas state has a ton of killer horn players. The northwest has a bunch, I havnt played east coast but in st loui I heard a guy just rip in to his ax. Then in the south east i watched a boner circular breath playing flight of the bumble bee and his arm and slider werre a blur the whole time, Oh and i dont remember hearing one gliss.
I guess before i start to recount all the good horn players and where i heard them my anser is good musicians are always looking for a better gig. Some times they move for it some times not.
