I was in a car accident this weekend. The car was totled. Its only worth like 1500 bucks. No one was hurt bad but 3 of my horns were in the car and all three have been destroyed. My 88h cl gsxo gone my shires (just got it too damn it) horn bent in half and my king 3b the bell now is only 2 dementional.

My auto insurance wont replace them and neither will my home owners. Im so sad. I have a couple horns left but my most valuable ones are all toast. I figure I lost close to 7,000 worth of trombones.

Dude that`s terrible. What evil person would even think of doing that even if it was an accident that blows!

You should look into your insurance files. While it is unlikely that your auto insurance would cover it, homeowners insurance should cover that property. I would look closely at your policy and consult a lawyer if it looks like you should get some payment from the insurance company.

Yeah, I would consult a lawyer as well. A few years ago, some friends were in an accident, and the resulting fire toasted an Edwards T-350 and a Bach 50. Both lost, but replaced.

p.s. That`s why when I drive, my Edwards goes in the front passenger seat with the seatbelt on. Seeing how it`s worth 5 times the amount of my car itself....

I`ve just read 3 replies that are putting you on the right track. Homeowner`s insurance. Definitely. A lawyer or legal aid ... quite possibly. The sticky point is if you used the horns to make a living, you required a commercial form of insurance. Points to consider, were you a member of a musician`s union? Have you an income from music, greater than "other income"? If you are a serious amateur, and have other pursuits as well, you should claim, and be adament until you are compensated by your honeowner`s. It`s your money. It can only benefit you to read your policy and see what limitations & exclusions apply. I have heard, but can not verify, that some Insurance companies may bluff you until you play harder. Ok so im a moon lighter. I teach bone on the side and and play gigs on the side. I make about 400 a month Unreported income and 200 reported from the bone. No im not in a union. I get a real income from my "9 to 5."

Going to break out the home owners tonight and see.

That`s horrible.
If that were to happen to me in the future, I`d swear revenge and search for the turd who demolished my babies and make them pay. (Seriously.)

I really hope you find a way around this terrible situation.

schmeltzer horns? ...
I never heard of a name like that before. I can`t even find any decent information on that. Is that some brand name? Well I`m glad things are beginning to come through for you, at the least.

Haha. When I first got my trombone, I loved it. I remember sitting on my bed playing it and realized how stupid and confused I had sounded. Then as the weeks went by, I hated band because of my scorching band director. Then, being forced to stick w/band for 3 years in MS, I grew to love it. (I mean LOVE... I used to dislike my director, then one day I decided to pretend he was my uncle and all the kids believed me. Lol.)

Yep. Those were the days. I actually still do that in HS.
