Kai Winding, Bennie Green, J.J. Johnson, Glen Miller, Kid Ory, Miff Mole, Carl Fontana are all pretty good if you ask me.

Yeah, Michael Davis is pretty awesome. He is doing some pretty amazing stuff. I went to college with his brother, so I heard about him all the time.

But wait a second... I thought trombone players were simply failed trumpet players who had to choose the trombone instead. I mean, is there such a thing as a good trombone player?

Yeah trumpet strumpet... it`s the other way around. I your ego is larger than the horn, switch to trumpet.

Yes, but at least it helps with the high notes. Really, I can`t get above a g" unless I`ve spent three hours with my fanclub.
Erik, your troll detection equipment is down

Troll detection equipment? Um... I guess so.
Anyway, this is the way I see it. Falied bone players play trumpet, and failed trumpet players play treble clef baritone. Thats the way I have always seen it.
As for the high notes, I can see that. Too much time spent with trumpet players, especialy half way decent ones that "warm up" no lower than 1 octave their tuning note, and you can`t think low. Everything is so tense, you might as well join em and scream a bit. Of course, another fun thing to do is sit behind them and blast pedals. That way their brain stops, and they get confused long enough to get 3 or 4 seconds of silence in.
