Oh yeah and your right, low B natural with both triggers tuned to D would be closer to 5th, more accurately flat 5th/sharp 6th. I usually think flatter when using the triggers, since I, and most players I have taught/played with, play too sharp with the trigger.
Of course, it does depend on how you have them tuned.
True dat, true dat.

even better than tuba would be flute!!
no backpressure. ive been fiddling with the idea of playing with flute. its like the ultimate horn in terms of learning to control air and not have any wasted.
my opinion.
and i have dabbled in tuba i felt like my air spread out and i had a HUGE problem with centering my sound and pitch after tuba. i dunno personally experience. i did a recording 3 months ago(which i hope will be on the shelves of stores in a few months) and i found out all my little problems when switching from tuba to bass trombone a lot.

Yeah I guess it is a personal thing. I marched sousaphone and played tuba for a bit a few years ago, and I found that while it took a bit to adjust chop wise from tuba to trombone, the air thing got significantly better.
Flute, however..... I had to learn flute in college a while back when I was still a music education major, and I just sucked at it. I was the example to the rest of the class as to what to do for a biginner that couldn`t get a sound out to save his life. So that left a bad taste for that instrument for me....
